Say no to Pizza

Best deals getting lost over by PIZZAS and BURGERS

Have you ever thought as why the Indian thali was made??? Think...

From salt to curd rice, everything has a meaning to it. It is the best ever balanced diet for an Indian.

Then did we change our nationality or is western culture killing us big time???

How many days in a month have you ever sat down with your family to have a complete meal similar to the Indian thali?

Now when we come to everyday meals or food habits, we gulp whatever we get in a rush and call it a Breakfast. Not everone pays attention to a breakfast which is actually the most important meal of the day. According to the Indian Dietician Association (IDA), the Indian diet in fact has 50 per cent inadequate protein pattern and we are the largest population of vegetarians. While there are many plant-based protein sources and a large number of people fail to meet their daily requirement.

According to Protein Foods Nutrition Development Association of India (PFNDAI), it is important to include extra intake of protein-related food since vegetarian diets alone would not fulfil the protein requirement of the body.

A renouned nutritional pathologist Dr. B. Sesikeran says, the issue is a matter of concern as even pregnant women would not be able to achieve optimal protein intake with vegetarian diets until she adds milk (Which now a days is said to be not the purest form - Refer article "")

“Proteins from different sources complement each other. Even with a ratio of 5:1 cereals and pulses combination, the protein quality in terms of digestibility and bio- availability is only around 65 per cent when compared to milk protein,” said Dr. Sesikeran.

Have you ever thought as how much digestible protein is being consumed by you on a daily basis?
